The relationship between man and the environment has always been conflictual. Our world today is based on economics and the ambitious interest people have in leaving nature behind. Nowadays business is growing and so is the population, people's priority is to earn as much money as possible, but do they really care about the environment around them? Our greed for money has led us to destroy forests and animal niches. However, there may still be hope that animals removed from their habitat can start over, in a very slow process, stopping deforestation and increasing conservation areas. This essay focuses on the conflicts between Siberian tigers, in the human-modified environment in which they live, and how this has periodically affected them to the point of becoming endangered, and how people around the world are trying to help by restoring their habitat. in Crisis News they write “almost all wild Siberian tigers live in the southeastern corner of Russia, in the Sikhote-Alin mountain range, east of the Amur River. Their range also includes northeast China and the Korean Peninsula, and as far west as Mongolia. It is considered a critically endangered species and the main threats to its survival in the wild are poaching and habitat loss due to intensive deforestation and development. The wild population of Siberian tigers is estimated to be around 350-450 tigers." (Introduction). As Ruth Ashby said, "Once there were eight subspecies of tigers, today there are three" (22). Tigers occupy only 7% of their historical range due to population increases above the global average rate across the world.
