Topic > The greenhouse effect on the Earth - 886

The greenhouse effect has serious effects on the earth. It has positive and negative effects on humans and the earth. The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the earth and is necessary for human survival. The greenhouse effect contributes to warming the Earth's surface. Without it our planet would be too cold for humans to survive. Human activity has changed the concentration of some greenhouse gases in the atmosphere since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. The world, for all we know, could end sooner than we think. Atmospheric scientists first used the term “greenhouse effect” in the early 1800s. It was used to describe the natural functions of trace gases in the atmosphere and had no negative connotations. In recent decades we have often heard the term greenhouse effect spoken in somewhat negative terms. It is important to know that without the greenhouse effect, life on earth as we know it would be impossible. In the atmospheric greenhouse effect, the type of surface that sunlight first encounters is the most important factor. Forests, grasslands, ocean surfaces, polar ice caps, deserts, and cities absorb, reflect, and radiate radiation differently. Sunlight falling on the white surface of a glacier is strongly reflected back into space, resulting in minimal warming of the surface. Sunlight falling on dark, desert terrain is strongly absorbed and contributes to significant warming of the surface and lower atmosphere. Cloud covers also influence greenhouse warming by reducing both the amount of solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface and decreasing the amount of radiant energy emitted into space. Although the greenhouse effect is a natural process, recently humans have largely ...... middle of paper ...... also farmers are not the only ones damaging the atmosphere. these gases, the concentration of greenhouse gases, are increasing. One of the resulting problems, among others, is the warming of the earth's surface, which causes an increase in temperature, climate change and, consequently, a consequent rise in sea levels. Rapid increases in greenhouse gas concentrations are mainly due to human activities such as the use of fossil fuels, deforestation, intensive agriculture, coal mining and waste landfills. The greenhouse effect and global warming should be taken more seriously by many people. Humans cause this problem. Humans can also stop this problem. If humans continue to add heat to Earth's atmosphere, Earth may not exist. Humans should stop doing all these things that make the earth heat up and start doing more to cool it.
