Although summary courts-martial are rare nowadays, they are similar to an Article 15 (non-judicial) punishment. Only enlisted members may be tried within a summary court-martial; can result in a federal conviction unlike an Article 15. Summary court-martial can arbitrate minor crimes allegedly committed by enlisted service members. It can impose maximum sentences of 30 days in prison; forced labor without imprisonment for 45 days; restriction to specified limits for 45 days; forfeiture of two thirds of the salary for one month; and reduction to the lowest pay grade
