The lack of evidence leads one to doubt the veracity of this study. While it is easier to change businesses, a leader with outdated values and qualities with poor connection to customer needs also lead to disenchanted employees. Therefore simply focusing on tasks will not be enough. It is important to understand the importance of values and qualities and the role they play in making the leader a role model. CONCLUSION The basic fundamental idea about Blue Ocean leadership is simple: as a manager, look at what actions you are doing and what value you are bringing to other stakeholders be they customers (external or internal), senior colleagues or subordinates. Activities, being easier to change than qualities, can move a company towards a new paradigm of employee engagement. However, until we have more case studies like British Retail Group, it will be very difficult to get Blue Ocean Leadership accepted
