When you think of the United States only two thoughts come to mind; freedom and citizenship. The right to vote, the right to free speech, and the right to a fair and speedy trial are all rights that American citizens possess. All the same people have responsibilities. People residing in the United States are expected to know their responsibilities, such as supporting and defending the Constitution or respecting the rights, beliefs, and opinions of others. In 1791, the United States Constitution was amended and the people were given the Ten Amendments, also known as the Bill of Rights, to protect their freedom. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and liberty. government freedom of expression and/or social intrusion. Freedom of expression includes the rights to freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, and of petitioning the government for a remedy of injustice, as well as the suggested rights of affiliation and belief. The Supreme Court clarifies the scope of security afforded to these rights. The First Amendment has been interpreted by the Court as applying to the entire federal government even though it is expressly applicable only to Congress. Furthermore, the Court interpreted the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as protecting First Amendment rights from interference by state governments. Two clauses of the First Amendment guarantee freedom of religion. The Establishment Clause prohibits the government from passing laws to establish an official religion or from preferring one religion over another. It reinforces the "separation of church and state". Some government activities related to religion have been declared to constitute... middle of paper... status quo and this is where its greatest victory lies. (Dargis, 2006) The film overall had a huge impact on my personality as it made me realize that every successful man in the world, be it Bill Gates, Chris Gardner or Carlos Smith, has gone through immense hardships, phases of difficulties and complications in one's personal life. and in professional life to achieve the status, prestige and respect they enjoy today. They could have accepted these problems to adapt to the existing scenario and situations, but the real triumph of these people lies in recognizing that all these problems and hardships sprout in them greater resistance, potential for perseverance and willpower to be able to transform them into a courageous person and disciplined enough to handle any kind of difficulty with extreme wisdom and sagacity.
