A nurse is defined as a person who is formally educated and trained in the care of the sick and infirm; thus making the role highly rewarded and highly respected, which very few look down on. I feel this is an important role as everyone, at some point in their lives, has witnessed the workings of the NHS and its staff; whether due to illness, accidents, childbirth, medical evaluations or even just for visiting purposes. I would therefore be extremely honored and privileged to become a nurse; as it is a role that people immediately recognize and approve of. I consider myself an excellent candidate, as I believe I possess many of the qualities that an excellent nurse should be; along with any of my experiences. First, as a mother I have developed trust and patience. I also feel like I have an innate tendency to care for others as I would my own children. I have matured into not only a good mother, but also a role model, which nurses must be. As far as I understand, a good nurse should also teach, guide and support their patients while they are in the hospital away from home....
