Topic > Focus on Volleyball Skills - 733

The focus of this section is on volleyball skills; a presentation of the factors that contribute to the dynamics of the game, the gender differences in the game and the determining factors for winning or losing games. This framework provides a simpler way to understand how serving and receiving plays a role in the game of volleyball.2.3.1 Importance of Skills in VolleyballA chain of factors determines success or failure in any sports match, but the measurable of it is correlated to performance efficiency indicators of technical-tactical elements or game phases during matches. Game monitoring in team sports such as volleyball and its analysis are based on evaluating the effects of situation-related parameters. The evaluation can be carried out based on official recordings of volleyball matches, video recordings such as data volleyball or various analyzes of players' efficiency during the game (Marelic et al. 2004). Extensive research has been conducted to understand the dynamics of the game of volleyball. After the modification of the rules of volleyball in 1999, the game underwent a complete renovation in a technical-tactical sense (Zadraznik, Marelic, Resetar 2009). To facilitate the evaluation of team performance and the analysis of game logic, the elements that play a key role in the organization of each team's game should be weighed against Complex I (also known as side out), which includes receiving, setting and attacking the serve, or Complex II, which includes serving, blocking/defending and counterattacking (Frohner and Zimmermann, 1996). In the complex analysis of the volleyball game, it is observed that the outside has more stable initial organizational conditions, since the ball is recovered from the m...... center of the paper ...... that the teams were significantly better at serving and receiving than non-elites. The study also shows that the quality of the attack depends on the quality of the set, and that the quality of the set depends on the quality of the defense or service reception. Yiannis and Panagiotis (2005) compared the effectiveness of key skills in 10 men's volleyball matches that took place between Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 and showed that there was a general tendency to decrease the proportion of errors made across all ability. In the 2004 Olympic Games, gold medalist Brazil executed their receiving and attacking skills much better than the teams they competed against (Laios & Kountouris, 2005). Eom and Schultz (1992) observed that the quality of the first touch provides better conditions for setting and, consequently, favorable conditions for finalization.
