I have had the opportunity to observe and work with surgeons, pain specialists and allied health professionals in both outpatient clinics and theatre. I also gained valuable experience of working in a hospital setting as part of my postgraduate pediatric training. I asked if it would be possible to attend internal staff tutorials and patient update meetings, which was a fascinating insight into how NHS medical teams manage patients, support each other and train junior members of staff.
