The healthcare system provides services to those who can pay for them; Unfortunately, not all people can afford to get insurance and receive medical care when they need it. There are many poor people who are left behind in this system and something must be done to guarantee these people adequate care and equal opportunities. Opening a free clinic is a way out of this situation as it will allow uninsured people to rely on the country's healthcare system and will significantly improve their quality of life. This project must include the analysis of economic issues and special needs in order to develop a coherent scheme for subsequent phases in the implementation of the project. Economic Issues According to CDC (2012) there are approximately 46% of uninsured people in the United States. The distribution of the neither uninsured nor equal; it's lowest in Massachusetts, but worth 22% in Nevada. The number of uninsured children is lower than that of adults; it reaches 7% of people under 18 nationwide. The report shows several trends in the healthcare system. Up to 35 million uninsured people do not receive regular medical services for a year or more (Cohen & Martinez, 2012). Poverty is the leading cause of lack of medical insurance in children and adults. 40% of poor children and nearly 39% of poor adults experience a lack of health services coverage. Lack of insurance is most common in the 24 to 35 age group. Representatives of racial minorities are more likely than others to have problems with health coverage (Cohen & Martinez, 2012). These facts highlight the economic situation that does not allow people nationwide to have constant access to quality healthcare services. The new free clinic can be a great contribution to...... middle of paper ......created by people for people; it doesn't appear out of nowhere. Only if all people and organizations collaborate with each other, the project can obtain sufficient financial resources, equipment and health professionals to support the local population.
