Steve Jobs: Visionary Genius Steve Jobs has been one of the most influential people in media for the past 25 years. Steve Jobs changed technology and entertainment in a way not seen since Thomas Edison lit up the world, radicalizing the technology and telecommunications industry. Jobs was born in San Francisco, California on February 24, 1955. “Jobs was an avid computer enthusiast who dropped out of Reed College after his first semester. At age 21, he founded Apple Computer, Inc., with Stephen G. Wozniak, a friend and fellow computer hobbyist” (Work). Step one: the creative task The creative task involves being able to alter your concept of creativity and try to see things from a new perspective, especially that of design! “Very often people associate creativity with something intellectual, with a particular way of thinking” (Greene, 179). Steve Jobs was a pioneer; it revolutionized the world of technology, but also that of music, cinema and the telephone. Jobs took what was there and made it better. In the movie JOBS, you can see Steve's creativity depicted through the design of the first generation iMac and iPod, which is shown in the opening scene of the movie. Phase Two: Creative Strategies According to the poet John Keats, “we must be able to deny our ego. We are by nature fearful and insecure creatures. We do not like the unfamiliar or unknown. To compensate for this, we assert ourselves with opinions and ideas that make us seem strong and certain” (Green, 181). To be led to mastery, you must learn to walk the walk and talk the talk, something that Jobs demonstrated in everything he did first computer, the Apple I. A year later, the two completed and published... middle of paper... after his resignation they founded his company in his home in Paolo Alto, California, October 5, 2011.
