The Trafficker: Also known as a pimp, daddy or madam; this person would befriend his victim by developing a friendly relationship and then joining the friend, promising him or her a better lifestyle, as he or she can earn a lot of money. The trafficker will take the friend away from his safe place through coercion or kidnapping, now the friend becomes a victim. The trafficker holds the victim hostage, beats her, threatening to kill her or her family members if they do not provide free labor or sexual acts from the victims; the trafficker may also sell the victim to another trafficker. “The perpetrators – increasingly younger – may be other students or gang members who manipulate the victims' weak points during recess or after school, law enforcement officials say” (Alcindor 2).
