Socrates once said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." He questioned the very nature of why things were the way they were, never settling for simple, banal answers. Socrates would rather die seeking the truth than live accepting what he considered a blatant lie. I like to think of myself the same way. I too would rather examine the wonders of life than accept what I was just told. The truth is, some can't handle the truth. I, however, welcome it with sincere anticipation and fervent enthusiasm. The search for truth, much like Socrates, has always been a distinctive part of who I am and what I consider to be a noble and useful approach to life. My mother told me that when I was a child I always had another question for every answer she gave me. I remember it like it was yesterday. My mother and I had brought some flowers from the nursery to plant in her garden. As he went about his business, laying down mulch and arranging flowers the way he wanted them, I began to notice the numerous insects stuck in the soil....
