No one wants to see their wages cut. It also seems very unrealistic that anyone's wages would be cut to benefit the economy. However, Michael Saltsman says, “We make it less expensive for private employers to hire teenagers. Let's lower their minimum wage." lowering the minimum wage would bring as many problems as solutions. For example, our young people would have jobs and our unemployment rate would decrease, but people who currently have jobs will be short of money. This is why the minimum wage should stay where it is because whether you want to raise it or lower it will both have a negative effect on our economy. However, we could consistently lower it by small amounts, which would have a less negative effect and give our economy a chance to adapt to changes without major changes.
