The third communication method I use is the school website and email. In the school where I work, teachers use the school website which allows us to provide families with information about classroom activities, grades and post articles on the website (Guillaume, 2016). Other additional information is available to parents as listed: monthly calendars, newsletters, school handbook, homework, photos, information on student progress, teacher goals and many other things. Technology can play an important role in providing opportunities to improve the educational landscape and expand communication options. One concern with this website is ensuring that it is password protected and accessible only to students' families. School staff and teachers must keep the information on the school website up to date and accurate. Sending emails to the parent about their child's achievements helps build a safe and trusting relationship between the parents and the teacher. These types of positive spontaneous actions create two-way conversations when parents respond to emails. However, emailing parents can be misconstrued and an impersonal way to convey challenges or problems the child is facing.
