Healthcare administers care, treats and diagnoses millions of individuals every day, from newborns to patients with life-threatening diseases. Healthcare consists of hospitals, outpatient care, doctors, employees and nurses. In healthcare there are always changes that occur due to advanced technology and without advanced technology healthcare would not be as successful as it is today. Technology has played an important role in healthcare and will continue in the coming years with new diagnosis and treatment methods and procedures to help protect the lives of the American people. However, with the abundance of advanced technology, healthcare still manages to make an excessive amount of medical errors. Healthcare organizations face many problems, and these problems have a negative impact on the healthcare system. There are several ways that medical errors can occur in healthcare. Medical errors are mistakes made by healthcare professionals with no intention of harming patients. These errors ranged from communication errors, surgical errors, manufacturing errors, diagnostic errors, and incorrect medication errors. Hundreds of thousands of patients die every year due to medical errors. With the increase in medical errors, the United States has become the third leading cause of death. (Allen.M, 2013) Throughout the United States there are many problems in the center of the paper, due to numerous medical errors. With the amount of medical errors currently occurring, which is a current healthcare problem, correcting the errors made costs healthcare billions of dollars every year.ReferenceAllen.M, (2013).
