Topic > Examples of Canadian Racial Microaggressions - 1260

So far I have made two suggestions for addressing racial microaggression. First, international students must respond appropriately to racial microaggressions. Taking into account any microaggressions addressed is obviously not an effective way to eliminate the microaggression. Students who experience microaggressions should instead talk to those who discriminate against them, report the problem, and ask for an apology. This can address awareness of microaggressions among native speaker groups; and hopefully more people will pay attention to this accidental racism and eliminate microaggressions on campus. Secondly, the help of native speaking friends would be useful. On the one hand, asking friends for help would appease people experiencing racial microaggressions. On the other hand, this behavior may also highlight the harm of racial microaggressions among native-speaking groups. Through word of mouth, racial microaggressions would be widely reported and more people would be aware of this social problem.
