According to a survey conducted in 2012 by graphicdesign.com, approximately 93% of graphic designers agree with the statement that the graphic design industry is in bad shape and don't know it where the discipline is headed. The root of Graphic Design is the communication of an idea through art or graphics. And it has been present in human history for a long time, from cave drawings to hieroglyphics and from physical prints to digital media. It has become a well-established industry, but many who have been working as graphic designers for years see that it is going nowhere and has sustainability issues. But because the industry is adaptable, has economic benefits, and because there is a great need for attractive, seductive art that communicates, the graphic design industry will develop, prosper, and stand out from other creative industries as adaptable, cost-effective industries and essential ones that offer a service that no one else can, will develop, succeed and stand out. Senior graphic designers believe this industry is on its way to its inevitable failure. Veteran graphic designers have expressed their concern about the industry as they see that other creative industries such as game design, film, animation and fashion are overtaking the graphic design industry in terms of popularity and demand in society. That the industry that was once considered important in multinationals and even “had a place, so to speak, at the board table” (Tortorella), is losing its real value.
