“A human resources information system (HRIS) is a system of supporting software and hardware designed specifically to store and process all human resources information and keep track all employees and information about them” (Gully, &Phillips, 2012). In today's technology-driven business world there are many HRIS systems that can be compared and contrasted in the areas of "payroll, working hours, benefits, administration, recruiting, formative learning, performance recording and employee self-service" (Gully , &Phillips, 2012) .
