Reflection Essay on the Big Kahuna As I watched the movie The Big Kahuna, I found many underlying issues and themes that allowed me to reflect on my life at King University. When a person begins a journey in their life, they typically have a few goals in mind, but these goals will likely change over time as we grow in life. “The Big Kahuna” is set in a “hospitality suite” with three men waiting uncomfortably to land a big payoff for industrial lubricants. The film is primarily a dialogue between three people talking about their business strategy, their sales goals, the cutthroat world of industrial lubricants and how Big Kahuna can transform their lives. The film is about three men: Larry (Kevin Spacey), an affably cynical salesman, Phil (Danny DeVito), a recently divorced veteran salesman, and Bob (Peter Facinelli), an idealistic green salesman kid. Larry is a born salesman, outspoken and confrontational. His character is based on the game of selling the product, because his point of view is simply to hustle and treat people only as nameplates. Larry's personality is sharp, sardonic and very competitive. Phil is a low-profile, seasoned veteran of the company and recently divorced from his wife. Phil is seen as more accommodating and closer to agreements. Bob is the idealistic green boy and the newbie of the three salesmen. Bob is considered the "new kid on the block" and believes that the best tactic to get a big account is to have a truly meaningful conversation with the person. Each character in the film shows how God relates to them in their life. At this point I discovered that the film revealed a message about how our relationships with God can influence our choices to establish lasting, substantive relationships with others. Our honesty in there... in the center of the card... continues to grow and learn from life's lessons daily to develop our character and accept our past regrets. My time at King University helped me accept that I cannot change the past, but I can look to the future and have the ability to choose my destiny through my interaction with others. This course taught me that Christianity is an important part of our lives, but we also need to accept other people's views and opinions on how to live our lives or how we should act on a daily basis. The goal of the film was to open our eyes to different opinions in the world and see if we could encourage others to live their lives to the fullest and possibly impact a person's life to make decisions to have a better relationship. with God. We may never fully discover the true meaning of life, but we continue to learn from our mistakes in life.
