The Universe is Like a Magic TrickThe Universe is Like a Magic Trick because of the questions and beliefs that arise when people are shown something they don't coincides with their beliefs about reality and what can and cannot happen. It causes many different reactions. The universe, its vastness, how it was created and why we are part of it amazes and amazes many people who are constantly looking for answers. Others believe they have the answers and try to persuade people to understand their point of view. Others don't even think about it. When they witness magicians' tricks, most people say, "Wow, that was awesome." The thought, question or statement that comes next is what I perceive makes the universe feel like a magic trick. Those words might be: “It must have magical powers,” or “I know it was a trick, it was fun to watch it, and now I'm going to go do something else,” or “I know it was a trick, I want to understand how it was done,” or "Anyway he can't fool me, I know how he did it, listen and I'll tell you how." The people who immediately assume that the magician really has magical powers simply by trusting what they have seen are the people who I would define as not exposed to commonly knowing "reality". A good example is young children. When they attend a magic show, they may know that they can't do what they just saw, but they will believe that the person performing for them can somehow do it. They may not question how they were deceived at all. Their connection to reality will be established when someone tells them it was a trick. Then the child will ask how it was done. They will be satisfied with the response they receive or not. At this point they will have a change in character. Those who know and accept that they have been deceived, are happy to have been entertained, and go about their business without wondering how, are the people I would classify as operators. I think the majority of people in the world are doers. These are people who do this and that without ever seeking solutions to life's unanswered questions. These types of people are happy to know what they know. They are open to learning new things as they are brought to their attention through their daily routine.
