Topic > Methods for Sanitizing Water - 779

The Earth is a planet rich in many natural resources that provide everyone with the ability to live. Right now there are approximately 6.6 billion people living on this planet. One of the most important resources that the Earth provides to everyone is water. This resource is something essential for everyone's life. Each of us is made of water and we need it to function. There are two types of pollution in this world. These two types of pollution are called point sources and nonpoint sources. Point sources are chemicals and wastes that come out of sewers and factories. While non-point sources are due to runoff from agricultural land and oil from cars on the ground. Water becomes polluted due to such damage to the Earth. Due to pollution, there are third world countries that don't have the money to support themselves with a sanitation system, and they should start using money-efficient methods to clean their water as best as possible; such as boiling water and chemically treating water. But currently the ability to use water to survive and live does not apply to 20% of the 6.6 billion people on this planet. Furthermore, another 40% of these people are unable to maintain clean water due to the lack of sanitation. Without good hygiene, germs and bacteria are bound to spread faster and more deadly. The water that people in third world countries drink is contaminated and sometimes they don't even realize it. There are many people living in first and second world countries who don't know how precious water is to third world countries. Many people don't understand the suffering someone goes through when they are dehydrated or need water through... paper... polluted water. Using methods such as boiling water and chemicals to treat water are just some of the procedures people could do at home, but there are other ways to promote water hygiene, such as filters for water. With the technology that the world is slowly building, one day everyone on this Earth will not have to suffer from the loss of their loved ones or suffer from hard work to receive water due to low income.
