Steve Jobs was a man who changed the world. He made the impossible possible. As a child Steve loved electronics. He enjoyed taking them apart and using them. But he also liked to cause problems, Steve Jobs liked to play pranks on others. He once let snakes loose in his classroom at school. Another time Steve placed explosives in the teacher's desk. Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California, and his parents were named Clara and Paul Jobs. Jobs was a smart boy and was academically gifted in the fourth grade. Jobs functioned at a high school level. His teacher suggested he skip fifth grade until eighth grade and go straight to high school. However, Steve's parents didn't like the idea. They said he was still a kid and too young to go to high school, but they allowed him to skip fifth grade. This means that Jobs started middle school a year early. The middle school he attended was not very friendly. The police were often called to break up fights and, to make matters worse, Steve became the target of the bullies. Jobs didn't like that school and threatened to leave if he had to go back there. So his parents moved to Los Altos just so he could escape the bullying. In 1968, when Jobs was a freshman in high school, he met another Steve. His name was Steve Wozniak. The two quickly became friends and "Woz" also became interested in electronics. In 1972 Jobs graduated from high school and went to Reed College. But after the first semester, Steve dropped out of college. But unlike other college dropouts, he didn't stop going to campus or attending classes, he simply stopped paying tuition and dorm fees. After dropping out of school he started working for Atari, a game company. His work was…half paper…or anything except making calls and sending texts and they were really slow. Then, taking the slogan “Think Different” to heart, Jobs created the iPhone. It was a simple portable phone to use. and could access the Internet, play music, and even check email on the iPhone. No one had ever thought of putting OS X in a phone! The iPhone was a huge success. Although Jobs was deeply involved with Apple, he hadn't forgotten about Pixar. By 2001, Pixar had earned $2.5 billion, making it one of the most successful film studios of all time. Jobs was a man who changed the world. It created better phones, computers, and music devices. Steve Jobs did what many thought was impossible. On October 5, 2011, Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer. Jobs was a man who made the impossible possible and forever changed the music, computer and phone industries.
