Cocaine is a powerful, addictive drug that affects the entire body in several ways. This drug has been around in America since 1855. In this year there were products used by the average person that contained quantities of cocaine. The products that contained cocaine were the drink Coca-Cola and medicines to numb the gums. But before manufacturers used cocaine in the things we use, three thousand years before the ancient Incas used to chew coca leaves, which is one of the ingredients to make cocaine. They chewed coconut leaves to get there with a racing heart and to speed up their breathing so they could work longer hours and because they lived where there was thin air. Furthermore, chewing the coconut leaves would tell their body that they are not hungry because they do not have enough food to eat. Cocaine was very popular in the 1970s and 1980s in New York City. During this period many people died from this drug. There are two types of cocaine-based substances, crack and cocaine. Crack is made by placing powdered cocaine in a mixture of water and ammonia, or you can use baking soda. The mixture is boiled until it becomes solid. Then the solid is removed from the liquid, dried, and then broken down into white pieces that look like small rocks. Crack cocaine is usually smoked. Cocaine is made by harvesting coconut leaves, then crushing them and adding a combination of chemicals, which would form a paste. Then take a large bucket and a cloth with small holes in it so you can drain the mixture and wring it out. Then put the paste in the bucket with the cloth, then add gasoline to the paste and mix them together. Then let the mixture rest. Next...... middle of the paper......; they often associate it with crack. Crack is a form of cocaine that is mixed with chemicals that make it extremely addictive. According to a study conducted by the University of Michigan, 2.7% of high school students used cocaine in 2012. Cocaine is used more by white teenagers than by blacks, but this is due to the availability of the drug. Cocaine has been around for many years and has destroyed many people's lives. If the government was stricter on the use and production of cocaine there wouldn't be people dying and children wouldn't lose their parents because of it. Additionally the government should create special police forces so they can stop any illegal drugs coming into the United States and their use. The world would be more peaceful and there would be no problems. But society will always find something else to add to.
