It also gives us an insight into the people, culture, politics, gender traditions, as well as a general insight into previous civilizations. As a part of literature, poetry introduces us to different cultures with different perspectives. Ancient Egypt and ancient China may differ in terms of culture, politics, economic stability, tradition, or even religious beliefs. However, in poetry, especially in love lyrics, both Egyptian and Chinese poems describe a common area in describing women, social attitudes towards love, sexuality, and the existence of romance or selfishness in relations. . If we look at the Egyptian poem “My God, My Lotus” and the Chinese poem “Fishhawk”, we will see that both poems have similarities in describing relationships. Furthermore, they have the similarity in imagining the lovers and their expression of love towards each other. However, both poems have some significant differences in terms of their depiction of female sexuality, gender disparity, and the manifestation of love. One of the most important differences between the classical Egyptian poem "My God, my lotus" and the Chinese poem "Fishhawk" is the depiction of female sexuality. In terms of female sexuality, the ancient Egyptian poem “My God, My Lotus” is clear, dramatic and visual. Women's physical appearance indicates freedom of sexual expression regardless of gender. For example, in the poem the girl says, “My heart longs to come down and bathe before you, that I may show you my beauty in a tunic of the finest royal linen.” here he describes his technique for attracting his lover. He is also describing his longing for his loved one by saying, “My heart longs for you, let it go… center of the card… love in reference to the Egyptian poem “My God, my Lotus”. Love and affection are an indispensable part of human life. In different cultures love can appear differently. In the poem "My God, My Lotus" the lovers responded to each other differently than in the poem "Fishhawk". Likewise, the presentation of female sexuality, gender disparity and the presentation of love were shown inversely in these two poems. Some may argue that love in the past was not the same as love in the present. However, we can still find some lovers who stay with their partners just to maintain the relationship. We may even find some lovers who are in a relationship just for self-interest. However, a love relationship should always be based on self-interest and build on mutual interest. A love usually reaches its perfection when it develops from both partners equally and with the same affection.
