There are numerous controversial topics in today's world. One that commonly falls under the radar is parenting techniques. Even if the thought is not expressed orally, everyone thinks they know the best way to raise a child. Who knows all the correct answers when it comes to parenting? It would be ignorant to believe that just one person does it. There are multiple aspects of parenting; discipline, education, moral values and protection. Parents play a vital role in influencing children as they grow up. David Bly said, "Your children will become what you are; so be what you want them to be." This should be taken into consideration by each parent. Unfortunately, however, this is not always the case. Those who respect it should continue to do so, thus making productive parenting more common. Future generations depend on it. Humans are complex beings. However, a child might be seen as more complex due to the fact that he or she is ignorant of many facts of life. This makes them influenced by the various actions they see and some of these actions might have negative consequences. At this point the parental figure will appoint the discipline. Discipline can affect a child physically or mentally/emotionally. Physical discipline is commonly thought of when the word discipline is mentioned. Many people find this punishment acceptable and effective. On the contrary, some consider it brutal and unnecessary. Physical punishment is used to discourage certain actions. The idea is that if a child is spanked, for example, he will remember the spanking the next time he considers repeating the act that caused the punishment. Fear is a big factor here. The human race does not normally repeat actions that have negative consequences. I......middle of paper......rewritable! In defense of themselves, the Twitchells stated that they simply thought their son had a bad case of the flu. Despite this, a trial was called and the Court convicted the couple of manslaughter, however, the Supreme Court ruled that the sentence was only ten years' probation. The couple have three other children left and the Court has required that the other children undergo periodic medical checks. Having a faith is a right of the people of the United States, but when it endangers the well-being of a child, something must be done. A parent should have the instinct to want to provide the best care for their child. The father is quoted as saying, "If medicine could have saved him, I wish I had turned to it." Their children are young human beings who are their responsibility, and it is their job to step up and be a sufficient parent.
