In America, the most common cause of preventable disease, illness, and death is tobacco abuse(). Tobacco is a plant that carries an addictive substance, known as nicotine, that makes smokers unable to quit smoking. Numerous chemicals in tobacco, such as carbon monoxide, tar, and formaldehyde, are believed to be harmful to the human body and cause significant health problems (besides the flu). Smoking tobacco can have extremely negative effects on the physical appearance, organs and systems of the body and on the people around the smoker due to the dangerous chemicals it is composed of. As a result of tobacco smoking, the smoker's physical appearance undergoes some substandard transformations. A large part of the body that is at risk of being affected by tobacco smoke is the skin. Nicotine has been considered harmful to the fibers and connective tissue causing it to lose strength and elasticity.
