Education, which refers to the transfer of indispensable skills and knowledge, is a vital aspect of a country's socio-economic planning as it generates a competitive workforce that contributes significantly to economic growth. However, it is still unclear whether the main goal of education is to provide a ticket to a better life, thereby improving individuals' living standards. At first glance, it is tempting to accept the proposition that the ultimate aim of education is to ensure a high standard of living since a good academic qualification enables us to become high income earners. However, after further analyzing the complexity of the issue, we should look beyond the superficial value of this statement and accept that, essentially, education has other crucial functions in our society. The main argument in favor of this short-sighted and incorrect statement is that education allows us to acquire academic qualifications, improving our employment prospects. To put this into perspective, the current academic-focused educational model allows students to gain a repository of industry-specific knowledge after graduating from a university or college. This academic achievement not only indicates one's abilities but, more importantly, allows one to become a highly valued contributor to the economy. With real-world experience gained through internships that are now widely available in many countries, you will certainly be in a good position when applying for high-paying jobs. A corollary of this is a high level of income that allows you to satisfy your material needs, improving your standard of living immeasurably. The large influx of Muslims into Europe over the past two decades has allowed more Muslim women to embrace the medium of paper over education in today's tech-savvy world. Whatever the case may be, the main goal of education is not to gain a competitive advantage in this knowledge economy to achieve a better standard of living. This school of thought goes against the essential nature of education, which aims to combat inequalities, stimulate creativity and inculcate a sense of belonging to society. In this regard, it can be argued that the current education model does not achieve its purpose as it forces students to conform to academic goals. A more sustainable model will create a non-threatening environment that will inspire students to become responsible, creative and passionate members of society. Education should fit into the broad scope of human activity in a way that allows diverse groups to thrive. This educational model will succeed beyond its prisoner's dream.
