Our life encounters many people who face challenges that they are forced to face. The trials we have caused by decisions and how we deal with them. However, was there a way to avoid these challenges? Did any choice or decision cause the repercussions? As we live life we don't see these choices as they are happening. At that moment we think we are making a decision that will help us in the long term, but what we think does not always turn out to be reality. People who make the decision to have a baby think about all the good that comes from the little human being. Kids are great, but they're not corners. They need food, diaper changes and simple comfort. When the baby arrives and starts crying, they realize that a baby is more difficult than they think. Our choices have consequences, and we can't make the consequences good or bad. They are what they are, but when the processes happen we can see instances that lead to the decision made. At some point in our lives, we will have to make another choice, the choice to help someone else in need. IF we help these people, one day we might get help when we need it. In, The Life you Save May Be Your Own, by Flannery O'Connor shows how three people, Mrs. Crater, Lucynell, and Mr. Shiftlet, make a decision creating the final image of what we see. Crater is all alone because her destiny was to save her daughter's life, as written by O'Connor. Mrs. Crater was an old lady who had a daughter. As she got older, the thought that her daughter would have nothing and couldn't function on her own scared her. He loved his daughter. Lucynell was Crater's life, but there was one discouraging thought that crossed her mind. Lucynell needed someone who could take care of her once Mrs. Crater was gone. “You… middle of paper… can change our lives. The three people in the story were destined to end up the way they treated others. Mrs. Carter had control over her daughter and did not ask her what she wanted. So she was destined to end up alone and have the fate of the one thing she wanted to control out of her hands. Lucynell was perfect. She was an innocent person and had no flaws, but she wasn't perfect. Her innocents created a destiny that would lead her to someone who would see her innocence and appreciate it for all she was worth. Mr. Shiftlet was someone who would get what he wanted. He didn't care how he got it. He was eventually destined to realize everything he had done wrong. He wanted it to be swept away, but it was too late. He was destined to remain alone because of all his mistakes. How will your story end? Will you have helped someone and they helped you in return? It's your decision.
