A tragic hero is a character in a story who holds a high position in society, but has a flaw that inevitably leads to his downfall. Julius Caesar certainly fits this description. He is a leader in Rome and has everything he could want. However, he has a weakness that will be devastating to his life. There are many people who would like to kill him but Cesare is not worried. Julius Caesar's flaw is arrogance and he believes he is invulnerable. He too, right before his death, discovers insight more devastating than knife wounds, and is ultimately an unlikable character for many reasons. Julius Caesar, even though he is considered great, turns out to contain many flaws. He believes he is untouchable and is certain that he will not be harmed, even if this is not the case.
