The Failure of Common Sense Have you ever noticed the common sense labels on devices these days? There are hundreds of examples of people doing stupid things that have forced companies to put ridiculous warning labels on almost every device out there. Today's world is like I'm back in elementary school. As? Well, if you remember, if one person in the class did something wrong, everyone would be punished. Now, even as adults, if a person does something stupid with a device and kills or injures themselves, the company is forced to put a warning label on the device. Most products come with a warning label telling you not to use the item. People have actually sued companies because they used the product incorrectly. Our society's lack of common sense can easily be seen by reading any warning label available. For example, did you know that you shouldn't use birthday candles as earplugs or for any other function that involves insertion into a body cavity? Well, you should, because it's written right on the box. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that you shouldn't use your power drill as a dental drill, and if you didn't know that don't worry, it's written on the first page of the manual. You don't even have to worry about being a party pooper when your kids ask you to play in the dishwasher, because the warning label covers it. Do you need more examples? Motorola recently went on FOX News after hearing that some people tried to dry out their phones by putting them in the microwave. Motorola not only put a "do not microwave" warning label on their phones, but they put the same warning label on all their other products. Why would you try putting an electrical device in the microwave? Common sense can... middle of paper... run low and that means at some point no one will have common sense. If no one on earth had had common sense the world would have fallen into total anarchy. Every day crimes occurred, even death followed because people ended up not knowing if it was right or wrong. Do you ever think that the rate of people with common sense will increase? I think it's possible if people would just pay attention and not just do stupid things like what I mentioned earlier by spilling coffee on themselves or sticking their phone in the microwave. The world just needs to think about what it is doing and learn to distinguish between right and wrong. If they did, the world could prosper. Always remember that the real world is just like school. If you do something so stupid that it requires a label telling you not to do it, the rest of the world will be punished for your actions.
