Topic > What efforts are being made to stop violence in schools?

A major problem in schools is that schools are violent. Our students have become more and more violent every year. If we don't start helping our students solve their problems with each other, the fighting will never end. Some people have really understood what exactly school violence is. “The actual term for school violence refers to criminal acts committed in educational institutions such as elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as colleges and universities.” (Opposing views) Many factors may play into why these students always feel the need to be violent. Home life, bullying, video games and much more could influence their way of thinking. Students only bring knives to school because they think it's "cool." They are endangering everyone's lives. “In recent years, students have brought not only knives but guns, explosives and many other things to school and have targeted teachers, principals or other students, even turning the weapon on themselves.” and commit suicide in front of their classmates and friends.” (Opposing point of view) Some schools have even had to reduce their school hours, or even close the entire school. Teachers no longer know what to do with students because their actions have become so excessive that they are unmanageable. A big influence in school violence is other students around. Other students encourage the more volatile and bullies to fight against others to solve their problems. The students think it's fun to watch fights happen. They even videotaped them. Statistics show that violence in schools has increased significantly. “According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the agency that monitors violence in schools has stated that since...... middle of paper . .....p the violence thought our school. “One of the most important would be to monitor our students' activities on their mobile phones, laptops and tablets. Monitoring student social media helps schools identify signs of trouble” (Opposed Viewpoint). Students rely on their electronic devices to get through their days. If only we could help students understand that school violence is not okay and does not bring anything good to life. Overall, school violence is one of the most concerning issues we currently face. Steps have been taken to reduce violence in schools, but there is more than can be done. Everyone just needs to work together to help reduce the number of violent crimes our students commit every day. If we don't do this, we are only making the crime worse by not intervening and allowing this to happen. The violence must stop and it will not stop on its own.
