For our HR report assignment we decided to interview Mr. David Kressel. Kressel is the Chief Financial Officer and has been with Central Escrow, Inc. for more than 3 years. Central Escrow has six locations throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire with approximately 75 employees. Although Central Escrow does not have a dedicated human resources department, Kressel together with Florence Chow, who is the company's controller, and Lan Tran, who is the operations manager, take care of all resource-related issues and problems human events occurring in Central Escrow. We began our interview by asking Mr. Kressel, what are the most important parts of the interviewee's job? With his answer he explains that the most important thing was simply to speak so that the interviewer, Kressel himself, could know how the candidate thinks. Most of the questions asked help Central Escrow understand whether they have potential within the company or not. An example question they ask is: Have you ever faced a problem where you ended up failing? What was it about and were you able to learn from the problem? Listening to the interviewee speak will give Kressel an ideal of how the interviewee thinks. Finding someone with common sense and clear ideas can help the candidate get the job. During the interview, Kressel will be able to discover basic technical information about the candidate that can help determine whether or not he or she will be hired. Some challenges that Kressel faces in the interview process are determining whether the information provided by the interviewee is telling the truth or lies. Kressel says that almost all of those interviewed tend to stretch the truth a little. He must then understand why the candidate is telling a lie, or h... middle of paper... the company in order for the company to run smoothly. Kressel says the job with the most weight is the escrow officer. Without officials making new agreements and closing deals, the office will not have the funding to continue for so many years. The next crucial job is the assistant officer because there is so much paperwork to do in a day that the officers have to take care of. Having an assistant will cut down on time and get more business done. At the Monterey Park location there are only six escrow officers and each officer has at least 3 assistants. Once all documentation is completed, the office administration will ensure that all information is present and send it to its destination. The accounting team ensures that each department does not spend too much compared to budget. The marketing team goes into the field to network and acquire new contacts for the company.
