The 1920s changed many things in the way people thought, acted, dressed, viewed others, and changed the way we see the American dream. All this change did not happen suddenly, but it was an event that caused this enormous change in mentality and that was the First World War. During the World War, Americans bonded with each other, every American was on the same team, ethnicity and class didn't separate people from each other that much. “Americans are all on the same team, regardless of economic class or ethnicity.[9] The World War I era was a time of strict moral codes with serious goals to achieve, and like any widely supported period of war, it produced enormous economic success and prosperity, giving rise to the infamous Roaring Twenties. (“The American Dream in the 1920s and 1930s,” Savannah Grantham). The strict morality and seriousness of the United States were also part of it, everyone contributed and everyone had their part. At the end of the World War there was a huge economic boom, financial success became a more achievable goal within everyone's reach. A huge generation of men was exterminated during the war and the woman along with some men of the time just wanted to enjoy life, for many people this was expressed through reckless spending of money, a change in morality and way of thinking. As the way of thinking has changed, ideas have also changed, but the main one has been the American dream itself. “From that moment on, that very idea of what it means to be an American could never die out, but would instead survive and thrive in the famous American dream. American investors define the American dream as “the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what social class they were born into, can achieve their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is possible for all” and believe that “the American dream is achieved through sacrifice and risk-taking
