Topic > A little about my life - 927

I'm not a sociopath. I looked it up and the description doesn't fit me, except for one part of my life, but even that I can somewhat explain. Despite this, I try to consider other people in the best way possible. I'm not selfish. I don't want much for myself and I give and share things. But there's this thing about me that will make you think I'm a terrible person, so I want to tell you more about my life. You don't have to completely change your mind and say, hey, she's cute, but maybe you'll see that it's more complicated and you won't hate me. Maybe you'll see it from my point of view too. But don't start with the bullshit about me being beaten or sexually abused. It never happened. My mother gets sick and me trying to help her is the whole reason. And you should know that just because I managed to do some unusual things, don't think that I'm a genius. Okay, I'm not stupid, but mostly I get things done because I worked hard at them. There's an old spy movie called "Three Days of the Condor." Robert Redford plays a graduate student working for the CIA who proves extremely resourceful in getting himself out of trouble. The bad guys can't figure out how he gets away with it. I think Max von Sydow's character explains: "he reads a lot of books." Well, that's what I had to do, except, since we're in the twenty-first century, I also had the Internet. My name is Fay, which my mother called "Fei" because she was from China. He wanted to give me a Chinese name and my father wanted an American name, so they chose one that was both Chinese and American depending on how you spell it. After reading The Mists of Avalon, I tried to spell it "Fey", but stopped when I discovered that it means "imminent death" in Celtic. I can't remember my father, but since... middle of the paper... I hadn't received payment and my mother was so used to cheap medical care in China and Dr. Wang in White Plains that she didn't enroll us on the plan optional with the musicians union. I did my best to earn money by designing websites for businesses in Westchester and doing Internet research for some writers who live nearby, but even though I was getting more than a thousand dollars a month that was nothing compared to the expenses for medications and hospital treatments. I would have done anything to give my mother the best care. Dr. Klar was certain she would beat the cancer and I wouldn't let her down. I needed to find a way to get more money. A lot of money. I found a way while looking for material on the Internet for some people I work for. They write screenplays and were doing one based on a Lawrence Block novel. Not his best work, but that's how I solved our problem.
