We've all seen those adverts showing glorious looking burgers that just seem to be exploding with tasty goodness, but how many times has our food actually looked like the advert? In my experience, that number would be zero. These advertisements are intended to trick our minds into thinking that fast food is much better than it actually is. While this argument can be made for any company in this age of brand personification, but just because other companies do it doesn't mean it's ethically correct. In addition to that, fast food is a potentially harmful food, so there is a difference between Nike running an embellished advertisement and a fast food chain running an embellished advertisement since Nike's product is not normally related to harm to health. The company distinguishes between persuasion to purchase a product that is harmful to health and one that is beneficial or harmless to health.
