RESEARCH ARTICLE: How much does water mean to you? Is clean water becoming rarer these days? What chemicals are in water that affect so many organisms? Water is undeniably the most abundant resource we have on Earth, yet it is becoming the most polluted thing around. Water is affected not only by humans but also by animals. These causes could be prevented. Water pollution comes from waste, chemicals leaking into the water, ships, and oil spills. Water pollution has a great effect on organisms that live in water. Excessive amounts of nitrogen are found in the water, which comes from runoff from chemicals that are put into fields. Some prescription drugs are also detected in water and harm organisms, such as frogs. The chemicals are causing mutations in organisms, such as frogs, which are developing both male and female parts. Water pollution is having negative effects on our drinking water and the water we and other organisms need for everyday life.
