The discipline of electronic engineering has entered strongly into today's society. Every day, people use technology pioneered by those who have studied the science of electronic components and applied electronics engineering principles to create devices and technologies that benefit society. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the largest professional organization dedicated to the advancement of technology for the benefit of societies. As students become electrical engineers, they will become involved with the IEEE throughout their careers and help in the development of new and beneficial technologies. Such examples of this emerging technology include: developing motor vehicle event data recording systems for vehicle safety, improving connectivity standards for wireless devices and networks, and researching possible alternative energy resources and solutions for promote energy saving for the community. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the largest professional organization working to advance technology for the benefit of humanity. The IEEE is made up of “more than 395,000 members in more than 160 countries; 45% of which come from outside the United States.” (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) IEEE members are scientists and engineers whose background is in the study of electricity, electronics, computer science, and related engineering fields. The IEEE issues publications, standards, grants, and awards for technological advances developed in collaboration with the organization. The IEEE also conducts conferences and workshops, which allow for collective review of new developing technology. The life-saving biogas digestion system will be presented at the IEEE conference.
