This states that schools are failing to protect students from harassment and bullying. To stop this, schools really need to spend a lot of time creating a very detailed code of conduct and even ask students within the schools to make suggestions. Now there is a way to stop cyberbullying and harassment completely, but there are ways to stop most of it. Some schools have already enacted laws based on what has been tried in the past, such as the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights, the Logan Act, the Jeffery Johnston Stand Up for All Students Act, and more. What schools could do is teach children how to be good citizens online and make good decisions on social media since this generation is a generation that thrives on social media. Schools may also have extracurricular lessons that focus on helping prevent cyberbullying and harassment. or in each class, once a week, the teacher could discuss cyberbullying/harassment with students. With the code of conduct updated as much as possible, and as schools begin to educate students on what to do and what not to do on social media, cyberbullying and harassment could begin to decrease every day.
