Dear Holmes, I hope you are well and continue to pray that your health remains in tip-top shape so that we can successfully conclude this investigation. The main reason I am writing this letter to you is to keep you updated on everything that is happening at Baskerville Hall. In our carriage, Sir Henry and I received some mental stimulation in the form of serene meadows and farmers tending their large cows. I never imagined that after traveling through such a peaceful and heavenly landscape we would be greeted upon arrival by a barrage of soldiers. Holmes, at this point my heart ached for Sir Henry because he had expressed a desire to visit the moor, and I could only imagine how he must have felt after arriving at such an inappropriate time. As we traveled by horse-drawn carriage to the estate, our questions were answered by an infantry soldier who informed us that a convicted murderer, named Selden, had escaped from prison. Holmes, it baffles me how a city can claim to be safe if it can't keep its criminals in their place, in prison.....
