Electronic cigarettes: the alternative way of smoking Once again man is faced with the age-old question of whether to smoke or not smoke. Today I feel that this is not the question that man faces. The question should be: why smoke when you can vape? The use of battery-powered electronic cigarettes is growing in Europe and the United States because they allow you to inhale nicotine vapor without also ingesting the tar and other carcinogenic substances present in traditional cigarettes (para. 2). Health experts are rightly concerned that these devices could make it easy for teenagers to develop an addiction to nicotine, which can be toxic in high doses and impair brain development in children. FDA laboratory tests have also found that some e-cigarettes contain hazardous chemicals used in antifreeze (para. 3). For a person who does not want to quit smoking, e-cigarettes are an acceptable alternative that eliminates its negative consequences. The consequences I am talking about are the addictive nature of cigarettes, the carcinogenic effect and the unpleasant odor released both by the cigarette itself and by the odor left on clothes. The use of e-cigarettes may benefit some people who are addicted to nicotine and want an alternative to tobacco cigarettes, but regulators still have a duty to make sure these devices do not cause harm, especially to our children. Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) reduces harmful habits. This is a positive aspect that has the ability to reduce or eliminate the harmful habit of smoking. Nicotine is a drug and can be significantly toxic even in small doses. When you use some form of NRT, this increases your chances of quitting smoking.
