Cause of War War is used as a solution to a conflict; two countries that don't get along usually fight each other for power or to prove who is stronger. Many different things cause war, but it all starts with the government. A government hungry for power and money will do anything to get what it wants. The more power the government has, the more power it will want. Another cause of war is believed to be religion, different religions describe different ideas and understandings, but those different ideas are disagreements about many things. If one government doesn't like another's idea, it creates disagreement, and that means war. An alliance occurs when two countries join forces due to mutual benefits. Alliances play an important role in wars: the more numerous they are, the more destructive the outcome of the war will be. An example would be World War I, if the allies of Austria-Hungary and Serbia had not been involved, it would not have ended in World War I. Alliances have been formed for security, power, military weapons and soldiers to ensure the security of a country. Now it's a question of who is stronger or better. A single event in one country would variably affect other countries. A tug on one cord tugged at the rest, and so the entire continent fell into war. AJP Taylor, an English historian, once said that alliances "created an overly rigid diplomatic framework, within which relatively small detonators could produce enormous explosions." (Defense Alliances - The World at War) The First World War took place mainly in Europe, lasted from 4 August 1914 to 11 November 1918 (Rosenberg), and ended with 4 years of continuous bloodshed.
