This essay will explain the ideological approach of liberalism related to foreign policy which exerts a strong influence on the current world system. It will begin with the explanation of the term liberalism, supported by relevant literature. Thus, liberalism represents several traditions that are extremely important for understanding the actions taken by states, including democracy, intuitionism, and constitutionalism. It may be true that for centuries empires have been created, physical and military force have been dominant. The development of civilization has radically changed this trend and has had an incredible impact on the existing world system and foreign policy practices. Next, it will focus on other approaches of liberalism that are notable in foreign policy practices that promote human rights, scientific rationality, and freedom. The growing importance of disembodied factors such as knowledge and information has influenced how global institutions and state governments behave and how the needs of different actors can change to meet the needs of the whole. Finally, we will move on to the explanation of the liberal approach that influences the foreign policy practices of the institutes of judicial procedure and collective security. The establishment of peace and harmony between states is extremely important for representatives of liberalism. Currently, liberalism is a political ideology that explains foreign policy through the interpretation of individual thoughts and how these thoughts are espoused (Doyle, 2012). democratic institutions around the world is seen as an inseparable action to promote peace internationally.
