Introduction I have been a student at Heriot-Watt University for two semesters, and over the course of my stay I have grown and learned more than I thought possible. Going through the Approaches to Learning (APL) program taught me a lot more, such as oral presentation skills. It helped me increase my self-confidence. Here I not only developed self-confidence, but also learned to search for relevant information related to the specific topic covered and also learned critical thinking. Above all, I learned how important oral presentation is. I quickly discovered there was much more. One specific experience I had while at Heriot-Watt University, my group mates and I stayed behind so we could plan our presentation. We had a great time and learned so much more than we ever could by giving an individual presentation.
