The naive native becomes the victim of the progressive white, who, by hook or by crook, deprives him of his country. Fortunately, too, the Tarahumare have not yet been wiped out of existence. His blood merges with that of the working classes of Mexico and he becomes Mexican. But it may take another century before they all become servants of the whites and disappear… Their assimilation may benefit Mexico, but one might ask: is it right?
