“Into the Woods” includes a song composed by Stephen Sondheim and later written as a book by James Lapine. It has won numerous awards at the Tony Awards, such as Best Book, Best Score, and Best Actress in a Musical. The awards came when the industry was dominated by The Phantom of the Opera. Bernadette Peters' performance as the Witch and Joanna Gleason's performance as the Baker's Wife brought acclaim to the production during its original run on Broadway. The lyrics are a tribute to the singer's lifestyle in which we learn about the lives of several dark brothers and the consequences of their characters' desires and quests. The lyrics adopt the life of a childless baker and his wife who was on a quest to start a family. A witch had placed a curse on them but their journey involves other characters. Cinderella wanted to attend the king's party. Jack on the other hand wanted his cow to give milk. The baker and his wife intended to have a child. Another actor is Little Red Riding Hood who bought bread for her grandmother. In this talk we will focus on Cinderella with the lyrics of “On the Palace Steps”. Cinderella's family went to the king's party and she thought of visiting her mother's grave for advice. Her mother's spirit offered her a dress and golden slippers, Jack instead met a man who dissuaded him from selling milk for a sack of beans, the man then vanished. Little Red Riding Hood met a hungry wolf who convinced him to accompany him after eating his grandmother. Cinderella went to the party in her beautiful dress and golden slippers where she discovered that a prince was following her. The wife helped her hide and explains the true myth that Cinderella applauded. Second...... half of the paper......ce but I felt very bored. This portrays her as an eager woman who has self-esteem. Cinderella, assisted by her bird friends, noticed that her mother's grave was disturbed and decided to investigate. Each character returned to the woods with a dark mind as the birds stopped singing. Cinderella was met at her mother's grave and was confused about joining other characters for safety. This was after the giant emerged as a woman that everyone in the community desired. While waiting for his wife's return, the Witch dragged Jack who was sacrificed to the giantess. This means that Cinderella was lucky to escape the disturbing sacrifice to the giantess. Cinderella reflects that the characters are emotional and she stayed with the baker's son and faced the prince who has no time for her. At the end he comes out with a lyric, "I wish..." this means he regrets life before.
