Topic > Ethical Awareness in Business - 1059

Every individual faces a situation in their professional or personal life, where they are required to make an ethical decision. This type of decision making requires a person to make a personal judgment on an issue that affects the lives of other people. For example, hiring or firing a person based on race, ethnicity, or religion would be an unethical decision. In this paper, Shelina Virani's ethical values will be discussed, how her values align with the values of Kudler Fine Foods, and how these values would influence her performance as a manager at Kudler Fine Food. I was required to take the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self-assessment and its ethical profile were most closely aligned with the findings (R). This means that I place general value on the good of society as a whole. If she were a manager and most of her employees were unhappy, she would think that it was due to an unethical decision she made. In the past, I have faced dilemmas at work and she had to make an ethical decision for the betterment of her company. While working at Shell Oil Company as an administrative assistant, it was her responsibility to record each team member's hours in the system and match them to the clock reading report. For Shell it was more about honesty and trust. They trusted her to double-check everyone's team members' schedules and enter the data into the system, so employees can get paid on time. Occasionally, there was a time card that had different times written and did not match the clock reading report. The clock reading report is never wrong because it is printed by the computer that scans the employees' badge when they arrive at work. From then on, he was still the same person; an ethical decision had to be... middle of paper... it should only expand if it has enough capital to operate multiple locations and pay the bank on time, even if the new venture doesn't meet its profit margin goals. When people expand their businesses, get a line of credit from the bank, and then close the business, it results in a loss to society as a whole. Employees lose their jobs, banks don't get paid on loans or line of credit, sellers have to recall their products, shipments are lost, and the owner loses the current capital he had set aside for the new venture. This article discussed my ethical values, how they aligned with Kudler Fine Food's values, and how these values would impact her performance if she were a manager at Kudler. It is very important for business managers to understand the relationship between employee and customer and at the same time be able to make an ethical decision that is best for everyone.
