Being in a family has its advantages; you always have a shoulder to cry on or a hand to help you up. A family is not just a person's parents or siblings, a family is a group of people who care for each other and work together as a team to improve the group as a whole. Being part of a family isn't always easy or fun: it has its ups and downs, like everything. For example, two people may have two totally different opinions and start arguing, the rest of the family starts weighing in on the situation and members start taking sides and dividing. Now a healthy and rational family will reach a mutual agreement and move on with their affairs. However, there are dysfunctional families that will continue to argue and cause further conflict, resulting in a broken family with more problems than it started with. A study from the University of California, Davis, found that young people who have positive relationships with their parents have a tendency to have stable, satisfying relationships in their first adult marriages, as well as in romantic relationships. Researchers, who began studying 265 individuals in the 1990s, found that caring parents contributed to the future success of their children's young adult romantic relationships. A family brings its members together and when people come together they can do anything. However, being part of a family can also prevent a person from being what they truly want
