Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the corporate events sector can represent for all those who operate in this sector a basis for innovations, opportunities and competitive advantages regarding the aspects social, environmental and economic. This essay addresses the question of what CSR is and how it impacts the corporate events sector in the UK, as well as the strategies companies need to adopt to generate a sustainable corporate structure and how they can advise their workforce to improve accountability . Furthermore, the correct communication of the corporate CSR structure is an essential aspect and how it has negative or positive effects on people. The global aspect of CSR is also interesting with regards to the corporate events sector and the implementation of the ISO 20121 standard. In the last year, corporate social responsibility has become a very important part for operators in the events sector corporate. CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) has been defined by the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) as “[…]the responsibility of an organization for the impact of its decisions and activities on society, the environment and its own prosperity, known as triple bottom line of people, planet and profit.” (nd) To strengthen the community and the market, the market must demonstrate responsibility, sustainability and transparent strategies. The strategic CSR application is used to envision a sustainable and successful future for the company by including a solid business plan based on the triple bottom line. (MPI, n.d.).
