Lebanon or the Lebanese Republic is the country located on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea (CIA, 2013). The country is surrounded by two belligerent neighbors which are Israel and Syria. Many of the events in Lebanon cause the country to have tense relations with its neighbors. Furthermore, in terms of economic problems, Lebanon is also facing numerous problems due to investments, banking sector, declining GDP, tourism and agricultural sector. Some believe that Lebanon will overcome these problems in the future. However, the crisis in Lebanon regarding hostile relations with neighboring countries results in an inadequate standard of living as this initial situation is largely reflected in the inevitable economic crisis in Lebanon. Jared Diamond, the author of Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed, introduced the five main frameworks regarding possibilities that lead countries to collapse, human impacts on the environment and climate change, declining relations with neighbors friends, relationships with hostile societies, and societies' responses to their problems. Lebanon faced two main problems related to the Diamond framework, relations with hostile society and companies' responses to their problems. In terms of environmental crisis, Lebanon is facing numerous problems related to environmental damage due to the ongoing conflicts with Israel and Syria. During the war between Israel and Hezbollah, the fierce conflict caused numerous destructive damages to the environment.
