Plastic bags are the major visible signs of pollution that extends across our planet. It's actually a rare chance to spot a stretch of road, a stream bank or a boardwalk that doesn't have a couple of plastic bags scattered around the area. The creation of each new bag causes a slight increase in damage to the environment every day. Bhutan first banned the use of plastic bags in 1999. This rule was strengthened in 2005 and again in 2009, as plastic bags pose an excellent threat to the environment, therefore they were banned in Bhutan. Plastic bags continue to be a profit for retailers and customers, but their impact on the environment has been reconsidered as mentioned, but the ban has been mostly ineffective. The ban on the use of plastic bags has been contested by the population. Initially the government of Bhutan was not creating a solid foundation because despite the ban, people would not dare to use it, the change in the law and the set of rules would be weakly formed after the ban on plastic bags rather than waste tributaries management, it has created a lot more tension because you still see people using the stock exchange. It is clear that the bag waste problem could be complicated and cannot be addressed in a simple way. It is impossible, nor sensible, to put a total ban on all plastic since most of them go with the essential things that are used daily.
